Marriage, Money & Power Tools:

What Could Possibly Go Wrong?

Apparently, the secret to building a business together is finding someone who makes even the hard things feel easy.

They say marriage is hard work, I guess?

Well, we decided to add real estate investing, renovations, financial risks, and power tools to the equation. Most would consider this unfathomable.

Because why simply enjoy being newlyweds when you could also buy a house that needs everything? Unnecessary stress.

Romantic, right?

But here's the thing nobody seems to believe when we say it: our relationship is easy.

Not because life is easy. Not because everything goes according to plan. And certainly not because we're two people without strong opinions. Do we need time and space sometimes? Sure. Not because we don't want to be around each other. Because introspection is healthy and encouraged in our space. With us, it's an easy ask and a respected choice. No questions asked, no argument.

A simple "Let me know when you're ready to come back to this."

A love that doesn't require us to fight for a place in each other's lives.

It's "easy" because we've found something incredibly rare.

There's no keeping score. No competition. No wondering who's giving more. The respect, admiration, loyalty, and effort flow so naturally in both directions that neither of us has to ask for them.

We have hard conversations, of course. We're building a business, not living in a fairy tale. But even the difficult moments feel different when you're sitting across from someone who wants the very best for you, too.

It's never me against him or him against me. It's always us against whatever life puts in front of us.

We didn't get lost. We just disappeared for a while, for the sake of our future.

Speaking of our future...

We Have Expensive Taste. Unapologetically.

We're not going to pretend we don't enjoy the finer things in life.

We do. The beautiful places, unforgettable experiences, a cozy home, and the freedom to enjoy it all with the people we love. We also know that champagne dreams occasionally require drywall-dust weekends.

And we're perfectly fine with that.

The day we just fumbled into a business conversation, the biggest lightbulb turned on.

Charley brings the hands-on skill and I bring the vision and planning. THE PERFECT BALANCE. This isn't to say he lacks vision or I lack hands-on skill. It's quite the opposite, actually. His creativity is next level; he sees things I can't. And on rare occasions, I get those oil filters off when he can't. (He knows, lol) I'm quite talented with hands on renovating. I can confidently say I can fix and replace more than the average woman (Thanks Daddy!) & no, I still cannot name the tools. The "doohickey that twists this thingy" works just fine. I don't need to know the name to be a boss at it (Flex). And Charley can bring his own beautiful dreams into fruition. But our majority strengths are the former - He builds. I strategize.

And it works beautifully.

But the goal was never to spend our lives chasing the next dollar, the next house, or the next accomplishment.

The goal is to build a life we don't constantly need a break from, and we just happened to have the perfect mix for this line of work. It was truly a no brainer.

What If Success Isn't What We Think It Is?

What if the greatest luxury isn't the house, the car, or the money in the bank? In fact, I know it's not.

It's having someone beside you who makes the ordinary days extraordinary. I look around every day and think "We've made it. We have the best life." while simultaneously generating the next plan of attack to level up. The key is perfect contentment whilst still chasing more.

We love nice things. We intend to work for them.

But we'd trade every beautiful thing in the world before we'd trade what we've found in each other.

Because a beautiful house means very little if it isn't filled with a beautiful life.

And that's what our business is really about.

Not just flipping houses. Not just building wealth.

Building a future where success is measured by how well we live, how deeply we love, and how much of that life we actually get to enjoy together.

And if we can inspire others along the way? Bonus.

The money matters, sure. The goal isn't to be millionaires.. (I wouldn't turn it down of course, wink)

It's the freedom for me. It's breaking through the patriarchal government that is designed to keep us in the working-class bubble. It's generating enough income to focus my decisions on less trivial items and more on what's going to create the best memories with my family.

The memories matter more. Always.

In the end, we take nothing material with us. I'm raising future adults who need the memories and experiences to equip them with all the proper skill sets to be self-sufficient and most importantly happy, kind-hearted human beings. As their mother, it is my obligation, and complete joy, to fill those cups.

Oh and the power tools? Those metaphorical appendages - They are simply the extensions of ourselves that bring all of our visions and hard work to life.
